Monday 2/12/18
Tumacacori National Historical Park, AZ - 300 + old Mission established by Jesuit Priests from Spain in 1691 and reestablished by the Franciscan Priests in 1800 when the current church which is still standing was built. We hung out for a guided tour by a Park Volunteer (retired history teacher) who was amazing with his knowledge and skill of presentation. The hour or so was worth the stay. Note we were about 1 mile from the US/Mexico border.

Next we traveled to Coronado National Memorial - This was the pass through the AZ mountains that the Spanish explorer Coronado used to search for gold in the New World. We took a dirt road to the top on the pass at 6500 feet. The road had many switch backs, very rutty, narrow and nerve racking. Views however were spectuar.
