Tuesday 2/6/18 spent the morning Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument in New Mexico. We hiked to the ancient flint quarries used by Indians 10,000 years ago to make flint tools and arrows for hunting etc. The hike was Park Ranger led was excellent and very cold, 18 degrees.

Spent the afternoon driving from Amarillo Tx. to Albuquerque New Mexico 360+ miles. Note speed limit out here is 75.

Along the way we came across a very cool Travel Lodge on the Texas - New Mexico boarder Russells Filling Station -Route 66. The station had a collection on 25 or so 50 vintage cars, toys and other collectibles. We spent and hour walking through.

  1. I’ll take the pink one! You guys certainly have made good timing! An 18 degree hike-burr. We’re expecting another round of snow ⛄️ freezing 🌧 and ice just in time for the morning commute. Hope you guys find more warm weather soon.
