4/21/18 Grand Canyon, AZ - Today we greeted Matt, Sammy & Lucy at the airport in Flagstaff. Of course Wendy managed to fit in a hike so we left a bit early to pick up the kids and stopped at Walnut Canyon Monument. It was a short hike, .9 miles with a 280 ft elevation change. It turned out to be pretty cool as there were a number of cliff dwellings in the canyon, including a few that we could walk in.
It was pretty neat that we could get so close to the ancient dwellings.

Sammy, Lucy and Matt arrived in Flagstaff on time despite missing a connecting flight. Lucy did great on her first flight!

After dinner we headed to the rim of the canyon to get a quick glimpse. Both Sammy and Matt agreed they were very happy Wendy was able to get a mule ride to the bottom vs their original plan of hiking down and back up. Elevation change is about 5,000 feet!
