4/3/18 - Arches NP - Exploring day in the bottom half of the park where most of the Arches are located. The road into the park is 20 miles long encompassing 76,519 acres. Overall there are 2,000 arches in the NP. We only saw just a handful of the total. The weather today was perfect warming to the high 60's and not a cloud in the sky.

The drive in starts with a long line of cars to enter.

The road quickly climbs 3,000 feet to the plateau with immense rock walls and formations. The pictures just can't capture how big everything is here.

And now to some of the arches and windows we saw today. Arches are craved primarily by flowing water and "Windows are carved wind and rain.

                                                                Turret Arch

                                                                  South Window

                                                                     North Window

Double Arch

Delicate Arch (doesn't look delicate to me but I didn't name the thing).

Balanced Rock. No idea why the huge boulder stays on top of the column.

View of the Windows area in the foreground.
Great day at Arches
