4/2/18 -We left Capitol Reef heading to Arches NP, UT. Before departing Capitol Reef Wendy & Sue hiked the Hickman Bridge trail while Alan and I took the camper to the quarter car wash. Very dirty camper encrusted with salt from the wind storm in the Salt Lake area. Boy the $35 truck wash price is a deal. What a job getting this thing clean for the 1st time in two months and 9000 miles.

The arch below is the only arch at Bryce Canyon

                                                        Hiking sights from the trail.

Along the way we stopped at Goblin Valley State Park to see rock formations which were formed by wind and acid rain. These unusual rock formations are only found here and nowhere else in the world.

Snow capped mountain in the background.

From the Goblins we swung by to check out Barrier Canyon which has pictographs & petroglyphs. Pictographs date back 2000 years and the petroglyphs are a mere 1000 year old. The sites are only 100 or so yards apart
Petrolyphs are etched into the stone
Pictographs are painted in blood. I assume and hope animal blood was used.
                                                      Look like extraterrestrials to you??

We arrived in Moab where Arches NP is located and found ourselves in a pretty intense dust storm. Luckily where we are staying is out of the dust storm area.

  1. So glad you got the camper CLEAN! The pictures look great and it seems like you are continuing to see interesting things. BTW, it was 14 degrees at our house this morning--I assume you are warmer now. Did you see any Jeeps left over from Jeep Week in Moab? Be careful--
