2/27/18 Tuesday - Morro Rock spent the day touring Morro Bay town which is just south of San Simeon. Cool town with an amazing 578 foot tall rock right at the beach. This rock is sacred to the Cumach Indians and they are the only ones allowed to climb to the top of the rock. The town has created a harbor with an ocean breakwater that starts from the edge of the Morro rock. Many surfers take advantage of the waves created just on the edge of the breakwater.
In Morro Bay some Harbor Otters were busy harvesting calms from the bottom and cracking them open to eat
Gourmet Lunch was served via tailgate-- hotdogs.
And no we didn't charter a boat but it sure looks like we did.
2/28/18 Wednesday - San Simeon we packed up to leave for Pinnacles NP. Before we left we took a short walk to the Ocean. Great morning on the coast.
San Simeon was great except absolutely no cell connection or HotSpot. So we pulled over on an mountain top with a distant view of the ocean to complete the blog for the 28th. Took forever with a limited connection.
3/1/18 Thursday - Pinnacles NP - very rainy night which continued nearly all day today. Wendy hiked to the Pinnacle mountain top, cave and reservoir in the rain. Mike on the other hand slept in and them got us ready to leave for Monterey.
3/1/18 Thursday - We arrived in Monterey in the afternoon during what Californian's would referred to as a monsoon. Our camping spot is Marina Dunes RV Park which is right next to the dunes adjacent to Marina Dunes State Park. Tonight is a big laundry night! We did explore today to see where we might visit tomorrow with hopefully better weather. We ended up going through Carmel which really is home to the rich and famous. Clint Eastwood was a one time Mayor of the town, Doris Day has a Inn in town etc. We ended up on an ocean drive with some pretty amazing ocean front homes. We took pics of the more unusual ones.
