3/18/18 - Exploring the Redwoods with Mark-Jen & the boys. Today was a sunny day in the high 50's  so we headed to the King Range, the Lost Coast and Shelter Cove. There are only three ways to get to this area - plane, boat or just one windy road in and out over a very steep mountain pass. This ocean front area is unusual with a black beach comprised of billions of stones of all sizes. The surf is tricky with a very steep slope to the ocean and an nearly sheer drop at waters edge. As a result the ocean waves are surprising quick and can catch you unexpectedly.

Although it is hard to see there is snow on top of the high peak.

                                                                  Rock climbing.

Pointing out the seals fishing at the waters edge.

Tidal pools exploration with Mac who loves everything that crawls, flies or swims.

                                                                 Ninja training

                                                            Fun throwing rocks!

Cool lighthouse at the town harbor.
