3/5/18 San Francisco - It was a travel day from Monterey to SF. Traffic actually was pretty good all things considering, however Wendy was aggressively using her brake. We headed into town to the wharf area to get our bearings. At our arrival there was a tall ship and a fire boat pumping water we thought to either welcome the ship or send it off. We just about ran down the municipal pier thinking it was a once in a life time sight. Well later at the Golden Gate Bridge park we saw the same tall ship headed back into the harbor. Wendy thinks it might be a ship that you can ride on. I guess the joke is on us.... we'll see tomorrow.

Fort Point constructed to defend the SF harbor during the Civil War. Why this made sense, I don't know.
Light house directly in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Palace of Fine Arts actually was built in 1915 to compete for the World's Fair. Interesting that SF was competing against San Diego's Balboa Park also built for the Worlds Fair in 1915. The SF structure housed the International Exposition in '15. The Palace of Fine Arts was rehabilitated in 1964 to 1967. The structure makes you feel like you have been transported to Greece.
