3/26/18 Arrived at Bryce Canyon NP, Utah.
This is likely the most unusual place we (I) have ever been. Our campground is at 8,000 feet and the peak in the park is 9,000. There is still snow and ice on some of the trails and a bit nippy at night, 15 degree low temp.
The rock formations are a combination of sandstone formed 190 million years topped by shale which acts a very hard cap on the top of the sandstone. Rain and wind over millions of years have eroded the sandstone to form what is called Hoodoos. Structures that reasonable drizzle castles at the beach.
The park has a great scenic drive up the mountain with great views.
Beth, Wendy, Jon and I took a hike on the Bristlecone trail.
More scenic drive
Very cold and windy!
